The team at Gresham Wealth Management have spread a little Christmas cheer by supporting the Friends of Brooklands Sure Start Children’s Centre. The team raised a budget of £450, enabling them to buy Christmas gifts for underprivileged families in the Wythenshawe area.
Originally the idea of technical team member Samantha Brannigan, Gresham staff decided to forgo Secret Santa in the office last year, instead each buying a gift for a child that would otherwise not receive any Christmas presents. The idea grew and supported by the directors, the team were able to buy gifts for mothers and children from seven families.
This year Gresham have been able to boost their ‘Santa fund’ and this week saw the team buying gifts for nine families, to be delivered by the Friends of Brooklands Sure Start Children’s Centre on Christmas day. Provided with names and ages of all the individual family members in advance, the team were able to buy accordingly, so everyone has something to make them smile on Christmas morning.
Morven Millar, Director at Gresham said:
“I am delighted we have been able to support a local children’s charity again this year and help families on our doorstep that would otherwise not receive any presents at Christmas time.
“It is easy to forget that whilst we’re happily participating in all the festivities of the season, there are so many families that are struggling simply to get by and therefore children who will wake up with nothing on Christmas day.
“The team love buying gifts for the families and it creates a great feeling throughout the whole office. We hope this will be a tradition we can uphold for years to come.”
