On Sunday 20th May, in glorious sunshine and 22 degree temperatures, a team from Gresham took part in Manchester’s famous 10K run. It was a fantastic day with a special atmosphere and each member of the team that took part did themselves and Gresham proud.
The team set out to raise £1500 for Headway Blackpool Wyre and Fylde, a charity supported by both Gresham’s Directors and of which Jonathan Young is a Trustee. We’re delighted to say that thanks to the generous donations of clients, professional connections, staff, friends and family, the team have been able to reach a donation total of £1500 including gift aid.
Headway Blackpool Wyre & Fylde is a charity that provides information, support and social activities for people suffering from acquired brain injuries. The charity is only small, yet aims to provide two days out per year for its members, who might otherwise struggle to get out and about.
The £1500 raised from Gresham’s efforts during the Manchester 10K will be able to fully fund the charity’s summer day trip for its members. This year, the charity has a trip to Lake Windermere planned for 50 plus of its members. Including travel to and from the Lakes in a fully accessible coach, the day trip will also include a boat trip on the lake and lunch out at a restaurant.
We’d like to say a very big thank you to everyone who donated and supported the team. We hope you’ll agree that the money raised will be used in a most worthwhile way.
If you’d like to help the Headway team make their day to the Lakes even more memorable, the team’s donation page will remain open until 20th June 2018. You can find it and donate here.
