This month saw the return of the Gresham Masterclass after a long break following the pandemic. With inflation and interest rates still at the forefront of the news agenda and affecting us all, we arranged for Ken Clark, Deputy Agent for the Bank of England in the North West, to come and speak to our advisers, technical team, and professional connections.
Ken’s presentation looked at various aspects from the Bank of England’s latest Monetary Policy Report, which was published on 2nd February. With the content ‘hot off the press’, the presentation gave a fascinating insight into the latest thinking from the Bank and how this has so far influenced decisions regarding interest rates. It also provided the opportunity for attendees to consider the direction policy makers may head in the coming months and years.
In addition to gaining CPD points for attending the Masterclass, guests also received a delicious buffet lunch.
Feedback from the event was excellent and many attendees commented how insightful the presentation was.
On behalf of all our attendees, Gresham would like to thank Ken Clark for taking time out of his busy schedule to present for us.
Plans for Gresham’s next Masterclass are already underway with a provisional date set for early summer. To provide a different perspective, we are hoping to arrange a visit from a UK fund manager. Watch this space for further updates!
